Let’s talk about fake news

First of all, I got interested in learning about Chris Cuomo after seeing some articles about how he pushed a false narrative about an underage kid buying an AR-15 with an expired ID. See the article on Daily Wire.

It doesn’t help that Chris then did a quick course correction and said that the ID is not the point. The point is that Americans want better background checks for gun buyers. He left out the fact that the tighter background checks apply to private purchases. Silly Chris.

I have nothing against Cuomo. He’s a good-looking guy with good taste in suits, and he has a job that gives him much more air time in a day than I’ll ever have, even if I do get my fabled 15 minutes. But this story is made all the more poignant by the fact that he took issue with the term “Fake News” calling it the “N Word” for journalists.

It seems that those who were once charged with keeping the politicians honest are now acting like politicians themselves, doubling down when caught in an inconsistency.
